Liturgy and Prayer
Prayer helps students nurture a personal relationship with God and places faith at the center of daily life. It creates a peaceful, grounded environment, fosters compassion and community, and reminds students that they are loved by God and called to live with purpose. More than a routine, it’s a way of shaping hearts and minds to live faithfully and joyfully.
- In the classrooms, students pray throughout the day; before and after each class, before meals, and at the end of the day.
- All classes attend a weekly prayer service led by the Student Council.
- All classes attend weekly mass with the parish.
- As a community, we celebrate an all-school Family Mass once a month.
- All school assemblies, programs, and meetings begin with prayer.
- Holy Days are honored appropriately.
- Students have opportunities for Christian Service.
Sacramental Preparation
SCB nurtures students' spiritual growth by offering sacramental preparation. In second grade, students celebrate both First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. All students also have the chance to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation twice a year, during Advent and Lent. Eighth-grade students prepare for and receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, with parents and sponsors required to attend preparation meetings to support their child’s journey.
For students not currently in a sacramental grade, opportunities are available to prepare for and receive the sacraments as needed.
